This is with out a doubt one of the best autobiographies I have ever read. I had never heard of John Cournos before. He was a Russian born author of several novels, spending most of his life in Europe and the states. Born in 1881, he wrote this autobiography in 1935 at a time when the world was not sure about communism or socialism , having just gone thru the great depression and first world war and just finding out about Hitler and his ideas.
