The author and I were classmates in a memoir class. After completing the class, Bob wrote this very interesting memoir. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood in New Jersey, he went straight from high school into a retail position at a Woolworth's. After a stint in the Navy during the Korean War, he and his new bride began opening their own chain of 5&10 stores.

I enjoyed this look back at the 5&10 era. As a child, my friends and I haunted our local 5&10.
