difficult to understand

This book doesn't make much sense. It gets off track and then you can't tell what is going on in the story.

Her life is captured in her autobiography, A Slave Girl's Story, Being an Autobiography of Kate Drumgoold . It offers a message of racial uplift, faith, and education.
