I noticed this clever little book from 1897 on Project Gutenberg while exploring and came back to it today for a giggle break. It is the story in short verse of a monkey who leaves the jungle, learns all about the ways of Man, and.....well, you will have to see for yourself what he does then. I thought the illustrations were adorable, and some of the observations by the monkey were very realistic. I do wonder what he did with his tail while he was in the world of men....
Albert Bigelow Paine was an American author and biographer best known for his work with Mark Twain. Paine was a member of the Pulitzer Prize Committee and wrote in several genres, including fiction, humour, and verse.
