I have read several books about Shirley Temple, this one she wrote herself. She was a child star but she did not have a very happy childhood, her stage mother was demanding, and overbearing. Shirley had no childhood at all and went to studio schools. Her mother pushed her to work constantly not giving her a childhood. Her parents hardly put of her money aside either.
