Having grown up in the 1980's in Scotland, Archie MacPherson was a stable of Saturday evening TV as he commentated on the top game in the Scottish league each week. Seeing this book brought back so many great memories.
On the whole this was a very enjoyable read, with some really fantastic anecdotes, a lot of humour, and also a lot of sharp insight into the game itself and TV broadcasting of football. I certainly enjoyed reading a lot of the events that went on behind the scenes that the public

I certainly enjoyed reading a lot of the events that went on behind the scenes that the public weren't privvy to. The anecdote where Sean Connery admonishes his wife at a function still makes me chuckle.
Archie doesn't talk about individual games that much which I was a little surprised at. I was also surprised at how little time some characters such as Alex Ferguson and Jim McLean were given. However, if you have an interest in Scottish football, this book will be a welcome read.
