Rick Holden may not be a household name from the annals of English football, but his autobiography from 2010 is certainly worth reading. His often hilarious memories of his time at Burnley, Halifax, Watford, Oldham, Manchester City, a return to Oldham and finally Blackpool will often astound and certainly generate a laugh at the backroom capers in the game.
The autobiography shows Holden to be an astute and intelligent person who has dealt with the ups and downs of life with a certain determination and sense of humour both within and without life in the professional ranks.
A book that, though on the short side, provided me with many withdrawals from the memory bank.
