The author is the meteorologist who was on Galveston Island, Texas during the hurricane that killed many thousands in 1900. He offers a very different perspective of his actions than does Erik Larson in 'Isaac's Storm."

I learned about this book at the Nature Unleashed exhibit at the Field Museum. I'm anticipating it as a good read.
