I read this class during a class on "Women Theologians in the U.S." with Susie. It was wonderful to see the variety of the narratives: the cultural contexts, what drew the women to ministry, what components of their lives they felt were worth recording.

The book touches not only on gender stratification, but on racial and socioeconomic roles as well. Highly recommended.
