This is my husbands maternal grandfathers autobiography. It told of his life being raised in Logan, Utah and eventually living with his wife (who I am pleased to know) in Bountiful, Utah. I enjoyed learning about his likes (fishing, camping, hiking, work, church service) and many friendships with famous Utahns. His family was even very close with Alex Haley, author of roots, and they helped him at his beginnings :) I was most interested in anything he wrote about Carol, since she is the one I knew the best, though I enjoyed reading parts about Nancy and Susan as well, since I have gotten to know them a bit. I wanted him to explain his relationship with his father more deeply, but I just realized he wrote another biography for his father so I am hoping there will be more details there. I felt like deep feelings and hardships were omitted. I also felt like he wrote a lot about fishing haha, which is fine, I mean that's his hobby, so of course he goes into detail, I just thought it was funny and was like, darn it, write details about your relationships with people! But hey, I'm a girl and he's an old school guy so we have different things we want details about :) The second half of the book had more family details and I enjoyed reading about his special times that he spent with his family, vacations, holidays, etc. It's very cool that he took the time to write this, I am sure it was a lot of work! But based on this, he was good at hard work so that's awesome. He made a great life for his family.
