An autobiography by the author. A story telling of a life struggling with alcohol addiction. A life going downhill, from alter boy to rebel. Giving up a promising career in the theater and then the military. Four marriages that failed and then having countless lovers. Alcohol influenced crimes that land him in jail. Then the cancer that kills him. This a scary disease. You feel the pain as the author tells his life story. A great story for all to read, learning what can happen to a person letti ...more

This is a *really* strong read - yes, it's what my AA friends might call a "drunkalog", but it's also somewhat entertaining - it's a man being totally honest with his life, yet giving it a gloss that doesn't glamorize his activities, but shows the harshness and devastation of drinking on his life. Definitely worth a read.

This book was not at all what I expected. I expected another boring self-help book about how to get your life back on track. This book, however, is thoroughly exciting and fascinating. It's not a self-help book by any definition. I highly recommend it.

Great book. Even though this book is very humorous we can feel this author's pain of being an alcoholic. We learn that it is not easy to stop drinking, but with love, hope and encouragement we can do anything.

You can't help but root for this man to get better. It is a page turner and and interesting read. Alcohol addiction is a scary, scary disease.
