Overview

Born in the small town of Princeton, Missouri, Black Sheep grows up working on the old family farm. His repressive religious upbringing sinks him under a load of sin and guilt. This marks the prevailing idiocy of rural life. His liberation begins with his escape to the state University. Enlightened as a child of the sixties generation, he avoids the Vietnam War by joining the Peace Corps. He goes to India where he meets his future wife. After a taste of foreign travel and adventure, he finds the Midwest too boring. He joins the Navy for several years sailing to European ports. Returning to the University, he earns a doctorate and becomes a professor teaching in the South. He ultimately leaves the US to teach in universities in Cyprus and Turkey where he meets his Turkish wife. It is an improbable journey from his small town origins to a world traveler. His life adventure takes him to some very unusual places indeed.
