Overview

Four-year-old Venda ran to her mother and blurted, "Mommy, I want to be a missionary! I want to go to where no one else wants to go!"

When people asked her future husband, Donnel McLean, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" ten-year-old Donnel answered confidently, "I am going to be a missionary."

From the time they were children, Donnel and Venda McLean each felt God's leading to serve in missions. He Leadeth Me is the amazing story of how they grew up, married, and moved to rural Japan to plant churches and take the good news of Jesus Christ to people who had never even seen a Bible. Continually aware that the eternal welfare of many precious souls was at stake, the McLeans moved from town to town, sharing God's love.

You will be inspired and blessed by this story of God's leading, provision, and faithfulness as the McLeans worked to reach the still-unreached in Japan with God's wondrous plan of salvation and as they saw His love bring many to faith.
Discover why the McLeans can confidently say that from their earliest years to today, "He Leadeth Me."

Donnel and Venda McLean served as missionaries in Japan from 1953 to 1994. God led and used them to establish two new districts of the Japan Assemblies of God. He also led Donnel to do an All-Japan Church Survey that pinpointed every city, town, and village that still had no witness. Ten years later, a follow-up survey revealed that many new churches had been planted in the formerly unreached cities and larger towns. The McLeans now live in California, work in jail ministry, lead Bible studies in three convalescent homes, and send out a monthly newsletter, Prayer and
Praise Fuel, which helps intercessors know how to be specific in their prayers.
