Overview
This is the chilling, highly acclaimed story of Dorean Edwards, famed Los Angeles concert promoter and publicist. The story spans across decades of pain, struggle, survival and eventual triumph. Edwards was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, with eight siblings. Her rude awakening of innocence-lost was magnified during the ages of seven to seventeen, when she was repeatedly molested. Edwards' home life caused her to suffer a shattered self-esteem, while being bullied at school because of her freckles, which led her into increased isolation and a suicide attempt. Later in life, she was mugged at knife-point in a Chicago alley and then brutally raped in her Los Angeles apartment. Nevertheless, it became apparent that God had a great work for her to do. Through it all, she clearly saw that God was with her and that angels guarded and guided her throughout life. Dorean Edwards understands the difficulty of abuse victims coming forward about molestation. Therefore, she discloses her story for the benefit of other victims who endured identical traumas. In her first, chilling, tell-all book, Dorean Edward makes it clear that she is one of these faces, and she is silent no more.
